UNDER THE MILKY WAY

Head to the Pinnacles on a clear night (with little or no moon visible) and you’ll have an unbeatable view of the Milky Way. To get a photograph like this though you’ll definitely need a tripod and a good quality camera. Use a wide lens, leave the shutter open for 30 seconds, select a low F/stop and a mid level aperture (e.g. 1600) and then be prepared to do a little work in post-production.
The park is open 24/7 and the entry fee can be paid by cash or credit card at the entry gate.
It’s an amazing location so get there soon, oh and rug up if you’re going in winter as temperatures can dip to just a few degrees Celsius.
